![]() People for Less Pollution (PLP) is an Addison County Vermont grassroots environmental organization established in 2003 to oppose the International Paper Company (IP) plan to burn tire derived fuel at the Ticonderoga, NY mill. In part due to pressure from PLP, IP abandoned their tire burn in November 2006. PLP STATEMENT OF ENDORSEMENT OF IDLE-FREE VT: We, the members of People for Less Pollution, support Idle-Free Vermont's proposal to legally restrict unnecessary idling in the State of Vermont. We believe that idling adds to the pollution of Vermont's air and has a negative impact on the health of Vermonters. Idling also wastes dwindling fuel supplies and unnecessarily contributes to global climate change. |
